Ahmedabad: Amid speculation whether the lockdown in Gujarat will end on May 3, Chief Minister Vijay Rupani has made a big announcement.

In a meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Rupani made it clear that there is no possibility of lifting the lockdown from Gujarat in one fell swoop from May 3. A clear statement that the Gujarat government will stick to its current policy of easing lockdowns in phases. Rupani did this in a video conferencing meeting with Narendra Modi.

Rupani said that if the lockdown was abruptly lifted, the lockdown would not be abolished and would be phased out as there was a risk of the coronavirus infection spreading to new areas where it had not yet spread.
